Neptune Transits to Natal Ascendant

Neptune Transits to Natal Ascendant

By Corinne Lane         3 Comments

When Neptune transits your natal ascendant, it sensitizes you, creating a plethora of new sensory impressions. You experience everything in your environment to a heightened degree. However, during this time, you might lose sight of your personal goals as you find yourself surrounded by a cloud of confusion, unreal fantasies, and deceptive circumstances.

In reality, Neptune transits serve to help you transcend and connect with a higher reality beyond your personal truths. How well you handle this period depends on your comfort with exploring the supernatural or spiritual realm. This is an opportunity to incorporate extreme idealism and a propensity for spirituality or mysticism into your everyday life.

The impression you leave on others will undergo a shift. Your intimate relationships, in particular, will be affected as you no longer feel like your usual self, and your partner will take notice. If you already tend to be submissive, you may now adopt a victim mentality, and in some cases, even become masochistic. On the other hand, if you naturally lean towards dominance, Neptune transits can gentle your personality, transforming you into a more adaptable and less authoritarian individual.

Transit Neptune Conjunct Natal Ascendant

During the transit of Neptune conjunct your natal Ascendant, the impression you make on others will change. You may feel the boundary between you and the world is blurred and need alone time to recharge. Be aware of idealizing others and don’t expect too much from them. Stand up for yourself if someone disrespects your boundaries. This transit can lead to important spiritual experiences.

Transit Neptune Trine Natal Ascendant, or Transit Neptune Sextile Natal Ascendant

During this transit, you become more empathetic and spiritually aware. There are two possible dangers to be aware of during this time: overidealizing new relationships and becoming too focused on idealistic views. It’s a good time for self-improvement and meditation, but also be open to learning from others while still using your own judgement.

Transit Neptune Square Natal Ascendant, or Transit Neptune Quincunx Natal Ascendant, or Transit Neptune SemiSquare Natal Ascendant, or Transit Neptune SesquiSquare Natal Ascendant

During this transit, relationships become confusing and difficult. It is not a good time for contracts or partnerships. You may feel insecure and attract those who take advantage of you. It’s an opportunity to let go of attachments and enrich your inner spirit. Let go of things holding you back.

Transit Neptune Opposite Natal Ascendant

During the transit of Neptune opposite your ascendant, intimate relationships may become difficult and confusing. Communication is unclear and trust may be tested. Letting go of unhealthy attachments is important during this time.

When the transit of Neptune square to my Ascendant first came into orb, there was something in life I had really been aspiring towards which, due to circumstances beyond my control, then couldn’t happen.

However, the interesting thing is that, before the transit was over, my original goal then suddenly did work out exactly as I had hoped at the time.

Perhaps the transit was trying to teach me to be more flexible, go with the flow and show me that even apparently giving up could, ironically, help me to achieve my aims in life.

I have Neptune on the Ascendant in my natal chart, and I am currently in the middle of a Neptune square natal Neptune / Ascendant transit. To say I’ve lost my drive and focus would be an understatement! And yet I’m completely unconcerned by this (at least right now, lol, sometimes it freaks me out). I can relate to what you’ve written here regarding the Neptune square transit.

I would also add that I have had to let go of who I thought myself to be. If you can believe it, I was a religious/spiritual agnostic, bordering on atheist prior to this transit. Now I’m into astrology and tarot! Every so often I can even see sacred geometry in my minds eye… shocking, I know. It feels like I’ve lost my mind, but I’m enjoying it too much to care 😂.

I’m almost wishing the transit will not end, but I also miss the old me who had things to do and some kind of purpose. I will certainly not miss the near constant brain fog and fatigue though.

I’m not sure if this is related to the Neptune transit, but I am currently in a relationship that I want to get out of but for some reason feel like I can’t. I feel like I owe this person something and feel like my leaving will hurt them badly. So, it’s like I’m sacrificing my own needs so as not to hurt someone else…As I’m typing this out it sounds absolutely ridiculous, even to me, that I would sacrifice myself for a relationship I’m ultimately not that into, and yet here I am, still in it… two years after I realised I wasn’t really that into this person.

Thanks for insights, it feels like being seen.

Neptune is near-exactly conjunct my Sun and square my Ascendant. I am constantly fuzzy-headed (not exactly unpleasantly), and absorbed in the details of preparing for my two-week holiday with a friend I have not seen for at least ten years. Despite this absorption, I took a major step in the war between my confederates and the dishonest manager of our block of flats: I announced that I am taking him to court for his major money-related misdemeanours . I’m not sure that I meant to do this. Nor had I planned to commit to the holiday with my friend. I regret neither. But somehow, I do not ‘own’ my actions. Instead, I feel that I am letting something compelling, like a gently rolling wave, push me inexorably. And I’m just a little bit scared.
