Sun Sign Meaning

The sun sign does not necessarily describe the way you behave. Instead, your sun sign will reveal the things that you consider real and most important in life. For example, to people who have the Cancer sun sign, feelings are real and important. To Capricorns, deadlines are real and important. To Scorpio, self-control is important, while to Sagittarius, not so much.

Your sun sign forms the nucleus of your personality. It is your fundamental frame, which is then completed and modified by the positions of the other planets.

Born on a Cusp

If you think you were born on the cusp of two signs, you should know that the Sun can only be in one sign at once. The sun changes signs at slightly different days and times every year. This calculator will give you your accurate sun sign.

Birth time is not always required because the sun doesn’t change signs every day. This means that on most days, the sun is in the same sign all day, regardless of what time you were born. You only need to know your birth time if the sun changed signs on the day you were born. If you don’t know the time of your birth, this calculator will let you know if the sun changed signs on the day you were born.

The Sun does not change signs every day. So, most people can know what their sun sign is without a birth time. If the sun happened to change signs on that day, the calculator will let you know. It seems your “TWINFLAME BIRTHDAY” is on a day that the sun changed signs. At least this calculator tells you which sign the Sun moved from and to. So it’s narrowed down to 2 signs.

It may be possible to narrow it further, for example, if you know whether the person was born early in the day or late at night. By checking an ephemeris, we can see the exact time the Sun changed signs. If the sun changed late at night, but the person was born in the morning, then you would know they have the 1st sign. Or if the Sun changed early in the morning, but the person was born late in the evening, then you would know they have the 2nd sign.

Another way to pinpoint the sun sign in your case is this: the 2 signs that the calculator gives would be in incompatible elements, either fire, earth, air, or water. It may be possible to guess the correct sun sign based on which element is most like the person’s character.

  2. I thought May 20th was Taurus, but it’s telling me I’m a Gemini. Can someone explain this?

The Sun changes signs at slightly different times every year. The “ingress” time is the moment it switched signs. This table lists the exact moment that the sun changed signs. In the table:

      • The column on the right is the sign. “GE” is Gemini.
      • The column on the left is the year.
      • In the middle is the day and time that the sun went into that sign on that year.

Scrolling through all the years, it shows that the Sun went into Gemini as early as May 20 several times since the 1970s. Also, those times are in UT/GMT (universal time) so even if it went into Gemini on May 21, it could have been May 20th for you if you were born in the Eastern hemisphere. I hope this helps.

born May 21 and in the year it was moving into Gemini out of Taurus. Based on the time I was born in Australia it was 10 hours ahead of GMT so it was already sun in Gemini but not fully. About 3 or 4 hours after it went into Gemini so even though it’s only a few degrees in Gemini am I on the cusp and do I follow both or just the one with the most sun in Taurus or do I follow
the sign sun Gemini its slighly moved into?
